Sushmita Sen’s reply is a gem after trolls called her a “gold digger”: The Tribune India

Mumbai, July 17

Bollywood star Sushmita Sen said on Sunday that seeing many anonymous friends and acquaintances commenting on her personal life, after once again applauding trolls they called her a ‘gold digger’ after she made former IPL chief Lalit Modi responsible for their relationship.

The former Miss Universe, who has long professed her love for diamonds, said they dig “deeper than gold”.

“Those who are called intellectuals by their idiosyncrasies…. Ignorant people gossip cheap and sometimes funny. Friends I’ve never met and acquaintances I’ve never met before… all share their great opinions and deep knowledge of my life and personality… monetization of the “golden digger” all the way!!! Ah those geniuses!!!

“I dig deeper than gold… and I’ve always (famously) preferred diamonds!! And yes I still buy them myself!!! (sic)” Sen wrote in an Instagram post.

Lalit Modi, founder of the London-based Indian Premier League, has caused a stir on social media with a tweet about his relationship with the ‘Arya’ star. He had referred to Sen as his “best half” and said the relationship represented “a new beginning of a new life”.

In her latest post, Sen said it was heartbreaking to see how “the world around us has become miserable and unhappy”.

“Totally centered in my being and my conscience… I love the way nature combines all of its creations to experience unity… and how divided we are, when we break that balance,” the 46-year-old captioned a photo of her standing in a swimming pool.

Sen, who did not mention names in her posts, thanked her fans and well-wishers for their love and continued support.

“Please know, your sush is totally fine..because I have never lived by the light of approval and raging fleeting applause. I am the sun…centered in my being and my conscience!! I love you guys!!! (sic)” she added.

After Lalit Modi, 56, posted the tweet earlier this week, speculation about his and Sen’s marriage has begun to make the rounds on social media. In a follow-up tweet, the businessman explained that they were only “dating”.

On Friday, Sean said on Instagram that she is in a happy and “unmarried” place as she shared a picture of her with her two daughters – Renee and Alyssa.
