According to the reports of United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Ovid Guzman A “famous Mexican singer” known as ‘El Raton’ ordered the assassination of anyone who objected to singing at his wedding celebration.
This Thursday it was announced that Ovidio Guzman, the son of Joaquín ‘Shapo’ Guzman, had been captured. The 32-year-old man is considered one of the top members of the Sinaloa Cartel and has become one of the most wanted criminals by US authorities.
His capture sparked heavy firefights between criminals and security forces, burning vehicles and grounding flights in various parts of the Sinaloa capital.
Sons of ‘Chapo’ Guzmán were “in charge of eleven methamphetamine laboratories in the state of Sinaloa, producing between three thousand and five thousand pounds of methamphetamine per month,” according to the DEA.
The drugs were sold to other members of the gang and to distributors in the United States and Canada.
The report also notes that Ovidio Guzmán was responsible for ordering the killing of “a drug trafficker and a famous Mexican singer who refused to sing at his wedding,” the US agency said.
Although the name of the artist has not been made public, the newspaper ‘La Opinión’ notes that between 2019 and 2020 the singers: Alex Quintero, Roberto Domínguez Trejo, Néstor Valdez, Julio Verdugo and Luis Mendoza were killed by gunfire. Their life is fire.
In 2021, US authorities offered a five million dollar reward for information leading to the capture of Ovidio Guzmán.
The 32-year-old man faces charges of distributing cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana from Mexico to the country from 2008 to 2018.
