First global look at Harvey Weinstein’s “She Said” – The Hollywood Reporter

Universal revealed its first look at She saidUpcoming drama based on the true story of the Pulitzer Prize winner New York times Journalists Judy Kantor and Megan Twohy during an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against them Harvey WeinsteinWednesday through CinemaCon.

Scheduled to open on November 18, the film is based on the 2019 book She said: Breaking the sexual harassment story that helped ignite the movement by Kantor, played by Zoe Kazan in the movie; and Twohey, played by Carey Mulligan.

It caused a domino effect [hastening] “The #MeToo movement for lasting change,” Mulligan said of the journalists’ work, speaking on stage at CinemaCon. “It was an honor for me to imagine this woman.”

Kazan noted that journalists urged their sources to share their stories because “they cannot change the past, but they can change the future.”

The clip shows the couple’s meeting with the sources and the pressures of working to overcome the obstacles to telling the truth.

Cast members include Patricia Clarkson and Samantha Morton. The film is directed by Maria Schrader.Unconventional), by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida), and DPed by Natasha Breyer (honey boy).

CinemaCon runs through Thursday at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
