A magnitude 6.6 earthquake shook the southwestern part of the country JapanAccording to Japanese officials, at least nine people were injured and no tsunami alert was issued.
The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor at 40:04 GMT, at 1:08 AM local time (4:30 PM GMT), off the coast of the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, Oita and Miyazaki. Japan Agency (JMA).

The quake was felt in other parts of Kyushu and southwest of Honshu, the main island of the Japanese archipelago. Grabbing something.
Local officials said nine people were injured in various accidents, including falls and blows caused by the quake in Oita and Miyazaki.
The quake affected power and water supply in the first part of the province, while at the Kyushu nuclear power plant, no damage was reported.
The federal administrator has created an office to monitor the event to assess material damage, which is no longer considered significant.

Japan sits in one of the most active seismic zones in the world known as the Ring of Fire and experiences frequent earthquakes, so its infrastructure is specially designed to withstand earthquakes.
