“Tinder scammer” Defendant Pernilla Sjoholm said it was “sad” that a company wanted to “collaborate with a criminal” after learning that Simon Leviev has a Cameo account where people can pay up to $1,400 for a personalized video message from him.
The documentary “The Tinder Swindler” follows Cecily Fjellhøy, Sjoholm and a third woman named Ayleen Koeleman as they set out to track down Shimon Hayout (Who went by the pseudonym Simon Leviev). The women met the user of an online dating app, and they claimed that he cheated them out of millions of dollars.
On Thursday, Felicity Morris (director of the Netflix documentary “The Tinder Swindler”) and defendants Fjellhøy and Sjoholm joined forces with “Tamron Hall” They appear in a default appearance. Among the topics they discussed was the latest news that Simon Leviev has joined the dedicated video app Cameo.
According to Entertainment TonightLeviev joined Cameo earlier this week. The platform is where fans can request personalized videos from specific stars. As of this article’s publication, Leviev charges $200 for personal video messages and $1,400 for business messages.
“Frankly, I was saddened to see any company cooperating with a criminal, he is wanted, and still is, in Europe, so he is hiding in Israel at the moment,” Shoholm said in an interview with The Guardian. “Tamron Hall” turns out. “I think he has crimes against him, and allegations against him in the United States as well, but no. As shown in the Netflix project, Leviev was arrested and convicted in Finland in 2015 for defrauding several women, for which he spent two years in prison. Leviev served five of the 15 months before being released in May of 2020.
At the end of “The Tinder Swindler,” the title card reads, “It is estimated that he scammed $10 million from victims worldwide.”
On the “Tamron Hall” show, Sjoholm also spoke about the news that Leviev has hired a talent manager, a woman named Gina Rodriguez, to help him pursue “A career in the entertainment industry.”
“As a woman, I don’t know how you can go to bed at night,” she said. “I mean, this could be your daughter that happened to this, it could be your sister, a member of your family that this happened to. It’s not that he cheated on us, he put death threats on us. I mean, like, it’s serious stuff.”
Rodriguez did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment on her behalf or on behalf of Leviev.

“I was fascinated by the Netflix story,” Rodriguez told ET. “I saw the world’s greatest salesperson. It left me a lot of questions unanswered and he was very biased. I think there are two sides to every story and everyone should have the opportunity to tell their side of the story.”
According to ET, Leviev is looking into a potential podcast, hosting a dating show, and/or writing a book.
